Antrim Lough Shore Park, December 2024
Antrim Lough Shore Park sits on the shore of the Lough Neagh, which is the largest (also freshwater) lake in the British Isles.
From the car park there, you can walk through Rea’s Wood, which takes you towards Dublin Road and return. In the opposite direction, you can also walk to Antrim Castle Park.
It is one of my favourite places to walk, with plenty of sightseeing for the nature and wildlife, especially the birds and the shore of the Lough Neagh.
It is a must-see location because there is nothing quite like it on the rest of Lough Neagh. I took a long stroll there in the late afternoon of December, which was not the ideal time to visit due to the erratic weather and early winter nightfall, but the sunset was beautiful right before the heavy downpour!
